To Whom It May Concern: The Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary Members approved the largest renovation of the Thrift Store since 1991. The building had been home to the Thrift Store for over 50 year, in total 4,000 sq. feet, and could not be expanded. We had plans drawn up, received necessary approvals from the District, engineering report, sourced all new store fixtures, prepared a budget, etc. In October we hired Phil from Coastal Dream Builders who reviewed our plans and suggested a few adjustments to our Reno. Right away, he started to prebuild fixtures of site; such as a large book case (three sections), change rooms, shoe racks, broom rack, etc. We had a window of opportunity, December 27 to January 11, with our goal being to complete the renovation while the store was closed for the annual Christmas break. Phil’s crew started to demolish all current racks, paint, create a new door opening to the large sorting room install all prebuilt items. All new store fixtures were assembled (purchased ahead of time); new wall rails for clothing were installed, new LED lights/fans added, new doorway, etc. We opened the store on January 12 as planned. We were on time and under budget. After this project was completed we started renovating the kitchen, bathroom, created an office, revamped three sorting rooms, expanded storage shed, build a large after hour donation bin, etc. Again, we were under budget and on time. We also achieved all of our goals:

• Improve Safety for volunteers/customers.
• Increase the useable floor space by 40%.
• Update the appearance of the entire building and increase the functional use of all areas.

Doing a Reno is a lot harder than building new especially when you are working with a structure that is over 80 years old.         What we liked about Coastal Dream Builders:

• During the Reno process we had at least 20 meeting with CDB, they kept us on schedule and under budget.
• Weekly billing enabled to us to monitor our costs.
• When issues came up, which they did, Phil and his Team would calmly handle the issue.

In summary, Coastal Dream Builders where not just contractor’s, they became a partner in our project. I engaged Philippe Ratelle of Coastal Dream Builders to design and install a stair system into our basement/crawl space. We wanted much better access. He designed a brilliant system of stairs that could be moved allowing for larger items to be stored in the basement. The stairs were moveable and allowed the full opening to be used. He then built and installed the system and it works beautifully. The work was done very professionally, on time and well within my budget. I would definitely use his services again for any other renovation projects I undertake. Highly recommended. Just wanted to send you a note of thanks about the work you have done for our family for our place on Alta Lake in Whistler. When we bought our cabin it was the worse house albeit on the best block in Whistler, on the waterfront.  It was a real shack but with good bones and potential.  Since you started doing our reno it has transformed to one of the most charming and desireable cabins and the envy of all of our friends. The attention to detail and the quality of work is exceptional and we have been very fortunate to have you take care of all of the improvements ina timely way and on budget. The value that has been created from the additional bathrooms, new kitchen, flooring and the super floating dock is awesome. Don't go too far we may want to do another one!

I was blown away by the work Phil did on my suite. He worked very hard to complete it on time. He was able to add a dishwasher to the kitchen area and mix existing appliances with new appliances. He added a kitchen pantry closet to a large hot water tank storage space. And a soaker tub replaced a simple shower in the bathroom. I could tell he also took great care to protect the existing flooring and minimize dust. The result was a serene, yet highly functional and space efficient home. It’s just stunning.
